Dibya Rani S. Magar,
I'm a full-stack engineer with over 4 years of experience building and scaling real-world platforms across logistics, energy, e-commerce, and maritime domains — systems used daily by hundreds of companies and thousands of users.
About Me
I am a recent graduate in MASc. in Software Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador , where I advanced my understanding of designing scalable systems and modern software architectures. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to complete internships with Angler Solutions in St. John’s, contributing to their energy systems modeling project. and Global Maritime through the GSE program by PSDP MUN, contributing to the frontend development of a logistic management software. These experiences taught me how thoughtful engineering, collaboration, and attention to detail come together to solve complex problems.
Outside of engineering, I’m deeply curious by nature. I enjoy keeping up with science and technology, reading, traveling, and exploring new perspectives. I also have a growing interest in content creation on TikTok, where I like sharing ideas, experiences, and creative insights beyond code.

Journey So Far
Frontend Developer
- ▸Built an interactive Deck Optimizer application for FPSO vessel management using HTML5 Canvas with real-time rendering of layouts, zones, and shipping containers.
- ▸Implemented drag-and-drop functionality with collision detection and zone validation to let users intuitively place containers across vessel decks.
- ▸Integrated Flask backend with the frontend canvas system for real-time data synchronization and server-side rendering using Jinja2 templates.
- ▸Created modular UI components (control panels, modals, navigation bars) in vanilla JavaScript with React-style architecture for maintainability.
- ▸Added Leaflet.js map integration for displaying vessel locations with zoom-based view switching between canvas and map modes.
Software Engineering Intern
- ▸Designed and implemented support system and automated error reporting, integrating Jira Service Desk API to automatically generate support tickets from user submissions.
- ▸Built interactive heatmap comparison feature for energy model enabling users to visualize hourly wind speed and energy production across multiple sites with delta calculations.
- ▸Developed comprehensive PDF report generation system with automated chart integration, CSV data export, and dual light/dark mode support.
- ▸Created color scheme system supporting seamless light/dark mode transitions across all dashboard components with brand-aligned palettes.
- ▸Built automated simulation error reporting capturing input JSON from failed simulations and generating structured Jira tickets for efficient debugging.
Fullstack Software Engineer
- ▸Built React.js and Next.js applications for transportation dashboards serving 500+ trucking companies with real-time fleet tracking, container management, and appointment scheduling.
- ▸Designed and implemented Node.js/Express microservices for terminal appointment automation, eliminating manual terminal booking processes and saving customers hours of administrative work weekly.
- ▸Architected Node.js/Express APIs for container lifecycle management and implemented WebSocket servers handling real-time GPS updates for thousands of containers simultaneously.
- ▸Developed interactive maps with Leaflet.js for GPS tracking, geofencing, and route visualization processing thousands of location updates with minimal latency.
- ▸Led adoption of Temporal workflow technology for appointment scheduling, reducing conflicts by 60% and improving operational efficiency.
- ▸Worked with MongoDB for data storage, Redis for caching, and Timescale DB for time-series data with AWS services (EC2, S3, SQS) and GCP for infrastructure.
Frontend Developer
- ▸Built multi-vendor e-commerce platforms using React.js with Next.js framework serving thousands of users.
- ▸Implemented Redux for state management across shopping cart, authentication, and order flows.
- ▸Worked with React Router, Jest for testing, Webpack for builds, and styling libraries like Material-UI and Tailwind CSS.
- ▸Translated Figma designs into production React code with attention to reusability and performance optimization.
Frontend Developer & UI/UX Designer
- ▸Designed and developed responsive web applications using Figma and Adobe XD for design work.
- ▸Optimized applications for performance across different devices and browsers.
- ▸Worked with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate based on feedback.

What People Say
Recommendations from colleagues and mentors I've had the pleasure of working with
"I had the pleasure of working with Dibya, and she consistently demonstrated strong full-stack development skills along with an exceptional work ethic. She contributed significantly to building clean, intuitive UI components while also working across the stack to deliver reliable and scalable features. In addition to frontend development, Dibya successfully implemented a WebSocket-based system, showing her ability to handle real-time communication and complex application logic. She is highly organized in her approach to work — maintaining clear Jira tickets, breaking down tasks effectively, and keeping stakeholders aligned throughout the development process. Dibya also stands out for her documentation skills. She consistently produced clear, well-structured technical documentation, making it easy for the team to understand features, workflows, and future enhancements. She actively seeks and applies constructive feedback, iterates quickly, and takes genuine ownership of her work. She would be a strong asset to any team looking for a dependable and thoughtful full-stack developer."
